Identity thieves look for opportunities to steal personal information that can allow them to access a potential victim’s personal and financial accounts.

It doesn’t take much to steal someone’s identity:

  • name
  • address
  • social insurance number
  • bank account number
  • credit card number
  • passwords

Take care to limit the amount of personal information you make available about yourself on social media or through online forms.
